In the foothills of the Himalayas, in a remote area of Northeastern India, you will find Jhamtse Gatsal (meaning garden of love and compassion) - a small school providing the most at risk orphans and abandoned children not only with food, clothing, medical care and shelter, but also a top notch education. The school is run by Lobsang Phuntsok who grew up in the area himself and long dreamed of creating a safe place for these forgotten children - providing what they need without taking them away from the area they call home. Lobsang has also created a Community Outreach program which models and teaches self-sufficiency and sustainability for the nearby villages in hopes of helping even more children.
